Hi Olivier THanks for that information -- that looks pretty bad. I think a 12-15% fee for hosts (on TOP Of a 12-15% fee for guests!) would be appalling and would infuriate most hosts. I just cannot see any reason that Airbnb would need to take a 25-30% cut of each booking transaction. That would appear to be theft.
ALso, I really dont' understand this -- I thought that having your website sync'd with Google was free. So why are "Google ads" Needed? Why can't listings just naturally show up via Google search engine based on keywords?

By the way, Olivier, did you know that All About Airbnb (the person who owns that blog page) is a member of this forum???!! Maybe we can get AllAbout to drop in here and tell us more....

Good idea Deborah. For Google ads it's the same if you want to promote your own site you have to pay for it. I think they want to do the same as Booking and have listings directly from a google search.

Thanks for sharing the info Olivier! I haven't heard of that and it was an interesting read. Typical Airbnb making a huge change to further line their pockets using stealth tactics. I wasn't able to find where to opt out on my listing, have you guys been able to find the opt out settings button?
