Hi, Thanks all, for creating this board, a mega task:-) We have two side by side listings, which have kept Stan and I busy for the past 5 years! We have met some wonderful people, some have become friends, others just passing through, never a dull moment :-)

Hi, I am Donna and I have a house in Ventura, CA, one block to the beach. I call her Coral cottage. I started with Airbnb in July and have had some amazing people stay at my house. Thank you Deborah for all the work you put into this site. I has been an amazing journey. Donna

Hi Maggie, of Stan and Maggie, yes I know you from the Home Sharers of SF group! You've been quite active there, I think the community really appreciates that.
Yes this board has been and is a mega task indeed. It's been many, many hours involved to set it up, bring content in, preserve important/historical content eg from Home Sharers of SF, do outreach, answer questions, welcome new members, take part in discussions here, and more. And then keep up with participating in New Hosts Forum, Homesharers of SF, as well as being involved in the new "COmmunity LaunchPad Hosts" helping Airbnb with the new Airbnb groups. I think it's been easily 150 hours so far in less than a month. Easily a full time job on top of my regular day job and then my hosting work -- so I've been working three jobs the last month or so.
But I do it because the host community is so important to me and I have found it so personally rewarding to be involved in it. I also think it's such a valuable thing to impart good hosting skills and build up a healthy host community. I do expect that eventually the amount of work will diminish,as once a community gets built up, it can run more by itself without as much needed from those creating it structures and providing guidance in keeping it together. As on New Hosts Forum, which has gotten to the point that it practically runs itself as there are so many great, helpful participants.

Welcome, Donna! Nice to see you here, and we look forward to hearing about some of your amazing journey and your stories! Coral cottage is a great name -- it evokes the sense of a soothing island setting.

Ah Deborah, your hard work is appreciated and hopefully it will get almost to auto pilot soon! It's certainly going to be interesting to see how things develop.

Yes, Maggie it will DEFINITELY be interesting. I am just waiting, very eager to see the looks on peoples' faces when they go in and see the new Airbnb groups!
