Airbnb Overhauls Service for Business Travelers
"On July 20, the San Francisco room-rental company plans to introduce a revamped Airbnb for Business, which includes a central billing system and a dashboard for human resources representatives and travel managers to track employee spending. The company is also kicking off a marketing campaign around the new business product.
Airbnb says it’s getting serious about going after corporate customers. The company introduced a rudimentary system called Business Travel on Airbnb about a year ago, after it received requests for such a service—mostly from other tech companies whose staffers might not mind crashing on pull-out couches. Corporate customers have since been asking for a more robust way to manage expenses and see where employees are staying. 'Historically, it's been a super-manual process,' says Mike Lewis, a product manager for (Airbnb) business travel."

My two cents: I'm still not sure how I feel about business Guests versus adventure travel Guests. The few business Guests I have had were decent enough. They tend to keep to themselves, travel alone, and only want a comfy bed and fast wifi. On the other hand, I've had most fun with and get most satisfaction from hosting non-business Guests.
Keith:
Ive had really good business guests. Its a nice respite from the tourist who appreciates more hand holding.
I thinknif hosts can opt out of the business portal that will resolve issues of hosts personal reasons for hosting... Those that want high guest interaction will get more tourists and those who appreciate the business travelers will absorb them.
Gina:
I have a guy who lives in Seattle but works for a startup company in San Francisco. He books with me on a regular basis. Initially, he was the type Peter described, but now we are good buddies and when I have to travel myself, he waters my herbs and picks up my mail. He really is so low maintenance, I've grown to appreciate him and vice versa. But most definitely, my deeper connections have been with overseas tourists, especially first time Airbnb users, who appreciate the hand-holding and "sharing" of stories, music, and sometimes impromptu meals together.
Henry:
We LOVE the business traveler. They keep to themselves, don't negotiate price, and barely touch anything except the bed. We get lots in SF during convention times. I highly recommend checking the Moscone Center website and pricing up for the larger conferences. Sadly or Barcelona property gets very few business travelers.
