Some hosts may not realize it, but guests who bring a service animal, are not permitted to leave the animal alone. For someone who is declaring that they need a service animal with them, to then go someplace and leave the service animal behind, is a pretty clear indication that the animal is not actually a true service animal, but is one of the "fake" service animals that are more and more common these days as the service animal exemption becomes more abused by entitled pet owners.
Q28. What can my staff do when a service animal is being disruptive? A. If a service animal is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it, staff may request that the animal be removed from the premises. Q29. Are hotel guests allowed to leave their service animals in their hotel room when they leave the hotel? A. No, the dog must be under the handler's control at all times.
