The Tennessee senate passed a bill that would block cities in the state from banning or trying to phase out, or overly restrict short term rentals. This would mean that regulations that Nashville and Knoxville are trying to pass to limit STRs, would be overturned or cut back. This is a win for property owners in the state. Cities which have "problem" short term rentals may need to address those problems in a different way, such as with noise regulations or parking regulations. Which, rather than a ban on a certain type of business, is how they should have gone about this in the first place. www.tennessean.com/story/news/2018/03/20/senate-committee-votes-overturn-local-short-term-rental-laws-tennessee-cities/442208002/
