A short-term rental permit & license will be terminated if not renewed annually, within 30 days of expiration. A new owner of a short-term rental home must apply for a new permit to continue using the property as a vacation rental. Property ownership changes must be reported/filed with the city within 14 days of transfer. A STR permit and business license will not be issued to any property that has not reported and/or paid the required transient occupancy taxes. Short-term renters must comply with the city’s noise ordinance, which prohibits the use of stereo and other sound equipment outdoors from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. The STR property owner or owner’s agent must be available 24/7 to respond to a problem location within 45 minutes of a complaint call. An appeals process has been created for property owners who may be cited for nuisance or other issues and facing termination of permits.
