On October 1st, Airbnb will begin collecting taxes for San Luis Obispo County on all bookings in the area.
They’ve come to the agreement that each booking extra tax will be charged and will go toward various departments of San Luis Obispo County.
From those fees will 9% Transient Occupancy Tax, 1% Tourism Marketing District and 2% Business Improvement District Assessment on bookings in the area of booking.
Guests will be charged the appropriate tax on their Airbnb bill and the company will then remit to the county the taxes collected.
