They allow you to use their technology to make sure a photo hasn't been altered/edited. I think this could actually lead to a problem though -- what if sites like Airbnb want to start doing such "verification" on photos, and you want to use an edited photo because your original needs cropping? Or needs the exposure adjusted? Will you find that your photo gets rejected by the system because Airbnb no longer allows cropped photos, or exposure adjustment in photos? So my perspective is that apps and technology like this are marketing themselves as fraud prevention, but they may actually involve new levels of invasiveness and surveillance that are detrimental to us in the long run. techcrunch.com/2017/05/11/truepic-photo-verification/
