What should be done about this problem -- that up to 20% of rentals in some historic Italian cities are now Airbnb rentals? And that area prices are oriented to tourists, not residents?
“Almost 20 per cent of the entire housing stock in the historic centre of Florence is now listed on Airbnb, which is quite a lot,” said Stefano Picascia, one of the authors behind the report. “Every single flat on a short-term let is one flat less available in the regular long-term market.”
