I suppose after 25 completed stays, I'm no longer a "very new" host, but I do have a question which seems appropriate for this forum.
I have been trying to find a better way to track my stays and payments using the Airbnb CSV export and having some frustration with it. Every time I export it anew, it gives me everything, including those that I already have in my spreadsheet, or overwrites what I had already worked on.
I'd like to know how others are using this feature and/or tracking your guest stays and payments. Any great ideas short of manually inputting the data for each reservation?
Thanks!

HI Joyce I haven't used that function, but I just now looked into it, and it seems that when you do the Airbnb export CSV you are only able to export the whole page, which is the whole page of the past transaction history, or the future. I dont think you can just do a section of the page. I like to do everything by hand myself in handwritten records, so I haven't used it...maybe someone else may have a suggestion.

I realized some other things you can do to minimize the info.
One thing you could do, if you dont' need all the extra information, is just print out only the page(s) that you need --- the export CSV gives you an Excel file, and you can print out 1 page, or 2 pages, or more, whatever you want to do.
The other thing you can do, is that Excel has a way to print only that section of any file that you want to print. You first highlight the part of the file you want to print using click and drag, then click on "page layout" on the top bar, and then "print area" in the menu bar that opens up, and then it will select to print just the area you highlighted. Then, click file/print and you will print out only that.
I suppose you could do the same to save a new file with only the selected part you want to save.

Export the csv file to a new worksheet (or separate new workbook, named Airbnb_ temp or some such), then copy and paste the new information not already in your working spreadsheet to your working spreadsheet. Since you can't restrict the output by date, this would be a workaround to prevent starting from scratch every time you download.
