So you all know that I have a bunch of listings, right? Long ago, back in 2010 when I started, there was a pop-up window that came up on the photography request form, and it would say something like "photos limited to two listings". Back then, I was still climbing up the greasy greed pole, so I only had one listing - but then I had a second one! So I requested photos of the first, then when it was time, of the second.
Fast forward 6 years later, and somehow I've managed to have photos taken by an official Airbnb photographer for a total of 31 listings. Out of the 31 listings only 17 are live and current. The bulk of the old listings were separate bedrooms in various shared houses that we're no longer doing. Out of the current 17 listings. I've had the same photographer for 12 listings. He laughs every time he accepts the job and contacts me. We chuckle about my addiction, and he's heard me say at least five times "Alex, this is the last time you'll shoot one of my places, I'm not adding any more".
Alex came over to my newest listing today. It's a small basement suite that I had reserved for friends and family only, but dang, that mortgage isn't going to pay itself, so we decided to put it online and see how it goes. So far it's been booked for all of September, and three weeks out of October. I don't have high hopes for the place in the dark winter months, but it's gravy when it is booked. Back to the tale - so Alex came over at 1pm today and the pictures were LIVE at 5pm. He lives in Brooklyn, so he most likely went all the way home which is at least an hour, then uploaded the images, then they had to be approved, and miracle of miracles, this all happened in about 4 hours! Normally I'm feeling like I should dance a jig when the images are posted after two weeks!
To recap - two interesting things. I keep getting away with requesting and receiving professional photos for multiple listings (but never the same listing twice) and today my photos were uploaded about four hours after the photographer left. Completely insane. www.airbnb.com/rooms/14837136
