After forcing new listings to be Instant Book only, apparently Airbnb is now looking into new ways to push hosts to activate Instant Book. They sent out a survey a few days ago, asking hosts if they would activate IB if Airbnb waived the 3% host fess for 90 days. Additionally, they suggested that host service fees will go up to 5% from the 1st of December for all hosts that don't use IB... After the past few days with Bridezilla who had great reviews, there is absolutely NO WAY i would use instant book! In fact I am looking a ways of increasing vetting, or maybe going strictly corporate...

Yeah, the chemistry the guest had with other hosts doesn't necessarily mean much.

Airbnb says: "Waiting for Approval to Book makes guests uncertain about their trip".
Dufuses!!! If you want certainty in a couple seconds, book a hotel, you dingalings!! Home sharing was different from the get go --- it initially attracted those who understood that. Now it's attracting those who are simply thinking, "costs less than a hotel"

I understand the idea of promoting a service, which globally increases sales, but the host fee would not incite me. Search rank promotion did and especially the chance to cancel the serial killers. I'd guess there was more success if they handled and communicated the cancellation more comprehensively.
What would also help, were a clear way to handle a Guest Not Recommended. My crazy lady did not IB, therefore I tried to crosscheck reviews but could not, on the phone, on mobile data. It should be possible to see with a click, what review the guest left. Now, i'll give her a thumbs down. Maybe the first, maybe the second or fifth. Nothing comes of it but - maybe, if true, no more IB for her.
It's stupid to offer 3 % against fear. If a host wants 3 % more, he can raise the price, it should pass
