Interesting listing. But the pictures seem obscene: they really kept teenagers there under the gitle of a "correctional" facility. What can you hope to correct a kid into, holding it in such cells? Closed inly four years ago for budget reasons.

Hmmmm, a prison in India. If there's a problem, will the person at the call center be from India? If so, no go.

I think if people could book a night in a cell at alcatraz on airbnb it'd be sold out a year in advance.
I like the idea of specialty listings.. old prison, "haunted" mansion, I see no value in sleeping in a teepee but some of these other options have their target market.

Aloha Helga,
I agree with your statement on 'what in the world are these children supposed to learn from such treatment?
There is a "home/compound" nearby for 'wayward teens'.
I had some parents that had come over after their son had been 'enrolled' prior to November, with the parents reservation in February.
They shared the kids had to have cold showers, and I cannot remember all the rest of the inconveniences.
Bottom line, after many different placements for their son in such enviornments as these, they were picking him up at the end of the stated time frame only to transport him to Costa Rica for more 'behavior enhancing'.
Apparently the son was not filled with gratitude of only cold showers and forced to live off the land as they had expected.
I personally would be an quite angry young teen if my parents sent me to experience the opposite side of living, instead of working on the family dynamics that I'm guessing are the true issues. '

Aloha Rhonda, it does not work. How could someone learn to respect others by not being respected himself. I learn those dynamics with my parrot, who has no filters or retarded reactions. If the environment is stressfull (= I create stress), he bites, destroys things, flings water glasses just to provoke me. Then I yell or chase him to stuff him in a (prison) cage and he calms down - after a while, outwardly. To find the next mischief once out. If I take time to calm down myself, talk to him, cuddle him, it's much better. In periods without stress, he is just adorable, no destruction, no damage with the mischief, only clownesque acts and we laugh a lot. Kids are similar, they reflect the environment

How would you explain my cat, then, Helga? Plenty of love goes her way, but she is always vicious. 😾
