Lufthansa is partnering with Airbnb: creativity-online.com/work/lufthansaairbnb-lufthansa-airbnb-listing/48358www.cntraveler.com/stories/2016-07-27/lufthansa-is-selling-airplane-tickets-on-airbnbDescribed as a "shared room" option and listed by German carrier Lufthansa in what may be the most optimistic description of Economy Class yet, the Airbnb listing also says purchasers get "one couch" (read: seat in Premium Economy) in the one-bedroom, four-bathroom accommodation for $792. Amenities include TV, heating, air conditioning, wireless internet, and a laptop-friendly workplace. “Our cabin isn't in the woods, but in the sky!" the listing notes. "Personal food and beverage service at 910km/h." Covering all of their bases, Lufthansa notes in the house rules that there is no smoking, no parties or events, and that the "room" is not suitable for pets. Despite the playful language in the listing, Lufthansa is actually selling something here: A round-trip flight from New York City to Frankfurt beginning August 25, with a minimum stay of four days. Given that a one-way flight on this same route on Lufthansa goes for well above $2,000, travelers booking through Airbnb will save themselves some euros. Will Lufthansa's creative approach to filling seats work? Only time will tell. Whatever the case, they've certainly made history—Quartz notes that it's the first time an airline has listed flights on Airbnb. SEe the listing here: www.airbnb.com/rooms/13612052
