SEe this post on the Airbnb Community Center: community.airbnb.com/t5/Hosts/Guest-plans-to-bring-his-guns/m-p/132487#M36466I would think that if you don't want guns in your home you can simply say so in your house rules. Rules go in house rules....ain't it obvious? I'm surprised that of the 5 responses to this question, no one suggested that. But then this is the Airbnb Community Center, after all. Oh come on people!!

Now, this is not one I have ever considered, but I must admit, if someone showed up to my house with a gun, It would be cancellation time. Unless they had just the right reason and personality. One whiff of a political statement or a lack of care or even the slightest scent of dominance and I would be paying the fine happily.

Would going hunting be acceptable? On their way to go hunting? Admittedly not as likely in a large urban center, as someone staying in a rural Airbnb.....
One problem could be....a guest could bring a gun into your home and you wouldn't know it, if it wasn't a long gun. They could come and go, and you might not know....

Well, I guess if I was in a rural area and hunting happened, I would have to consider whether I wanted to do Airbnb. I grew up with guns in the house and saw some near accidents. I'm just not comfortable around them and just because someone had a hunting license or has taken a safety course doesn't necessarily mean that they follow good gun safety at all times. Now, where I am now, if someone has a gun, they are usually either a cop or in a gang, so it hasn't come up.
