I'm getting to this a little late, as this happened in November 2015, but want to post all the regulatory news that I can find on this website: www.marinij.com/article/NO/20151119/NEWS/151119760For the sake of preserving community character, a conflicted Tiburon Town Council has decided to ban short-term rentals in town. The 3-2 decision issued this Wednesday night, in favor of adopting an ordinance introduced in August is to prohibit rentals fewer than 31 days — the type made popular through online offerings, such as Airbnb and VRBO. Mayor Frank Doyle and Vice Mayor Erin Tollini cast the dissenting votes, arguing for the council to consider regulations rather than an outright ban. However, Councilman Jim Fraser, who has been back and forth on the issue, said there was no compelling new evidence to support further discussion. “We are not a Los Angeles. We are not a Santa Monica. We are Tiburon, California ... where neighbors know neighbors,” he said.
