Hello All...I am beginning to get inquiries for Super Bowl Week & in particular one from Australia (a potential guest with no reviews) traveling with a group of co-workers. Any suggestions for how to scrutinize this potential guest? I've already asked him for more information about himself & who will be traveling, i.e. couples, group of buddies, etc. I'm a little worried about a one week party going on, but I do have a rather high security deposit limit set for our home. I'm not sure how much information I should try to extract, although I know the more the better.
Keith:
First I'd make it clear to them that Levi's stadium is 50 miles away and are they sure this is where they want to stay?
Then make it clear that this isn't a 'party' house so if they're hoping for a place to host a superbowl party they'd be better off somewhere else, however if they need a great place to unwind after being out partying or at the game then this is perfect for them.
more than likely if they're looking for a weeklong party they just wont book (and you'll be better off not having them) otherwise they'll be informed and all should be fine.
it's reasonable to get a larger deposit if you can (I don't know if you can do a different deposit per booking, I thought it was on a per-listing basis).
My guess is they think the SF 49ers play in SF... so they may intend to stay closer to the game.
G:
Uhhhh....that would be one rowdy type of crowd that you will be hosting,

I'd run from this one as fast as you can. This just seems disasterous. I have a hard enough time renting to people with no reviews, let alone a roving group of aussies with no reviews seeking a party pad for the superbowl. I don't think you can have a security deposit high on enough on the potential amount of noise something like this can cause. Just my $0.02. Cheers and good luck.
Andrea:
Right, I asked for them to complete their profile & give me more specifics about who would be staying here. Never heard back again...wheew, I'm glad. Was about to say no anyway.
