Airbnb Customer Service/Guest booking issue

So this happened... Received an email from Airbnb CS today asking to block off dates for a guest having trouble completing verification. I messaged guest (found in my dashboard under cancelled reservation) telling her i would block and hold the dates for 48 hours). She messaged me back saying they had booked another place because Airbnb told her I had booked it. What is going on??? Guest is fully verified, can't book, asks Airbnb to hold the place, then they tell her an untruth? WTH?

Note to self -- never block off dates for anyone incl., apparently, CSX.

Hey Jen - when you say fully verified, do you mean her profile shows "Verified ID" on it? I'm assuming you require verified ID, or is Airbnb making her jump through these hoops?

hi julie and eric - yep absolutely her profile had the verification badge. she told me it took 23 phone calls to csx to get it completed. this is not the first i heard this week of someone having difficulty with verification.

i also found out they told her my place was booked (it was not) before i ever blocked it off for her so they booked another place. so airbnb caused me to basically lose a booking.

just had a senior book and he got all his verifications in place, including a video of himself, within two hours. some are "challenged" and others are not.
