Question!
I have a guest who would like to book an extra night. I can't figure out how to do this without his being charged an extra cleaning fee and an AirBnB fee.
One of the major reasons we use AirBnB is because it means we don't have to deal with payments and money issues. We've been there before and we really value having an intermediary.
I don't want to deal with his money. I want him to go through AirBnB but I want him to be able to book a second night and pay a reasonable price.
Yes, he should have been more organized at the outset but I'm not in a position to criticize that. If he cancels the reservation, he can reserve again and he'll only be charged the cleaning fee once but he'll be charged twice by AirBnB.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much for the help. I know somewhere there is a host 911 and I thought I was a member of it but it doesn't come up in my groups or in suggestions and I can't figure out how to find it.

Below I've cut and pasted the URLs for the Airbnb Help Pages that address alterations, which can be proposed by either the guest or the host. Hopefully Airbnb won't block you from being able to see the info.

How do I make changes to a confirmed reservation as a guest?

You can simply go to alter reservation -- add a day & modify the total price, leaving out the additional cleaning fee. I just had to do this & did it with airbnb service person online to help.

Let him book another night and you can personally reimburse him the cleaning fee?

Not necessary, Denise, just alter the reservation. See above.
