See the article: blog.airbnb.com/introducing-donna-boyer Meet Airbnb’s new Director of Product When we set out to find the person to oversee development of host features and services, we knew they had to have extensive product expertise plus a deep understanding of hosting and the Airbnb community. We’re thrilled to introduce our new Director of Product to you. She’s a (super smart) Superhost who is passionate about advocating for the things hosts care about most.

Deborah do you know her from the SF host community?

No, I don't actually know her -- I don't know too many hosts in San Francisco -- only those who have been most active on the Home Sharers of San Francisco group, and she hasn't been active there.
I just did a quick Google search under "Donna, AIrbnb, Noe Valley" and found her profile:
www.airbnb.com/users/show/23500389
Listing:
www.airbnb.com/rooms/4532551
Airbnb probably likes a lot that she is a Superhost and uses Instant Book.

Thanks for your research, Deborah. Yes, a Superhost, uses instant book, AND no evidence she is registered with the City for STR...I looked everywhere on her profile. I find that criminal that Airbnb has hired her for this position if true...

That is interesting, Nancesf -- I hadn't thought to look at that about the registration, but I just did and it seems you are correct. (Though isn't it possible someone might have registered but just not put the # on their listing?) I dont' know if I would use the term criminal, but it is definitely a little "public relations" problem for Airbnb! Just like Brian Chesky's little oversight with his Airbnb listing in SF! I think Airbnb needs to be careful with its public relations in San Francisco to avoid pissing off the anti-Airbnb forces and the city government.
SInce Donna's last name has now been revealed, it will take all of a few minutes for anyone who is so motivated to find her address and then it won't be long before the city is knocking on her door. So I predict the little oversight will be corrected soon.

Thanks for the follow up, Deborah. Indeed I used the word "criminal" loosely. PR nightmare is more apt. It is another example of the "tone deafness" of the organization to the political and social implications of their actions (like the wonderful (not) billboards about how to use the TOT $...FYI, we can report the listing ourselves to Airbnb ("should not be on the site" given its illegality). I'm not needing to report to the City. Just want to address the continued hypocrisy or disingenuousness of Airbnb leadership.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing. Being in conformity with the rules would be a good idea in that position. It's like going into politics: you should clean up before.

www.airbnb.com/rooms/4532551Hi again, look was I found today (while trying to track my listing's placement)? Tried to insert the screen shot but may not have succeeded but the link is above to her listing. Bottom line, the new Dir of Placement has now included her SF STR registration number. I'd communicated my distress about the issue with Peter Kwan of SF Homesharers who messaged some Airbnb contacts who said she is registered. It was pointed out registration requires including the # on your site. It is now there. Peter suggested they do an audit of other host sr staff to make sure they are in compliance. See, sometimes we can get justice/action...

Interesting...when I go to her listing I don't see the registration number! Oh well...not sure why..
Oh! I found it. YOu have to click on "more" to see it.....

Yup, that's an issue we in SF have with Airbnb. They've eliminated the specific place for permit/reg # which used to be highlighted. Now it must be put in "other things to note". We were not happy about this change, (another one of these changes) made w/o consultation with hosts or apparently with City and County of SF....

I actually think there is value in having the reg# appear in the general description, rather than creating a special place for it. In that for Airbnb not to make changes in its website to accomodate one local government or another, represents what seems to me (IMHO) a good separation between private business and government. I"d rather that Airbnb not do anything particular on its site on behest of any government agency. Least of all provide a designated place to input government information.

Hi Deborah, thanks for your thoughts. I am fine with your position. It's just bad faith given past discussions with our City....
