Hey friends,
Yesterday I was looking at the new dashboard and realized that despite updating my calendar 5 min prior, my dashboard was still showing as "Last update May 22". So I go back to the calendar and think, ok, maybe I need to actually "open" or "close" an available date - normally I would just have to open the calendar for it to update. So I do so. I choose an empty single day, and I block it. Back to dashboard, and still no change to the Last Updated info. Then I go back to the listing and think what else needs to be tinkered with to update this? I go into Base Price and adjust it by a dollar. Nope, that doesn't work. Then I go into the actual listing description, and I figure I'll try and add an extra space or a new word somewhere. That does the trick! So now it looks like the listing shows as updated only if you actually change the listing! Is anyone else seeing this?
Also I notice that the new Listing Name character count is expanded to allow another 15-20 characters. This is new. Also new is the summary character count is greatly expanded. I wonder if that's because it might be the ONLY text that gets read (certainly 90% of my guests don't read the full description without prompting).
I haven't gone through every part of the dashboard but noticed these few things right off the bat.
Preaching to the choir here to wish that a monthly email blast to hosts with new changes would go out! There may be other small tiny improvements that are particularly useful to hosts, but finding them is trial and error.

Yes, Milu, I noticed that too about the calendar updates no longer being sufficient to update your listing. I also have started doing a small change to my listing description every day. It's silly to have to do this, but if it helps with the search ranking, then I guess we need to do that.
Someone else pointed out to be that the summary character count has been doubled from 250 to 500 characters. I didn't realize the listing name space is also larger. That helps !

The calendar blocking dit not change the date, but one of my listings showed updated yesterday although I had not done anything to it. Booking does not change it, as I got a booking today, but maybe reviews do? I wrote a review yesterday and I got a review from someone else. I sometimes had the feeling that writing reviews got me inquiries but thought that is a crazy idea. After all, it could well be, if it updates the listing and raises the search rank.
