Question please
Hi, I am a new member to Airbnb and to this group. I dont know if this is the correct forum for this question, but I cant seem to get any other answers. Last week I had two inquiries for the same date in May 2014, which I thought was very odd. I replied back to both of them stating this and asking if they knew each other. Never heard back from either, but got a message from someone in Trust and safety saying that some one had requested to communicate with me away from the secure message system. when I tried to reply back to ask them if my profile had been compromised in any way, my email would not go through, which I though was odd.
I have had no further inquiries about my place this that time.
Is there any way for me to find out if in fact my profile has been compromised? is the there a phone number to call.? Real people to speak to?

Here is a number I save when I need to speak to someone live from airbnb, (phone number hidden). Give'em a call and they can advise what to do. Good luck amigo and welcome!

the airbnb SF number is like gold! guard it for emergencies---the people who answer are generally top notch & very nice!! Write a reply

Hi. Sounds very strange and it is difficult to get someone from airbnb to help when.u need them. I must admit it used to be much better.

Your profile wasn't compromised, what happened is that someone created a fake account and tried to book your place or contact you. It happens all the time, so TnS has people on the lookout for it now. They just let you know so that you don't try to transact with the scammer offline. If you do, then you basically can't complain or get any help from Airbnb when things go bad. It's just a way to protect you, the community and the company. I am a former Airbnb employee.
