Horrible guests
I have just had a terrible experience with 2 guests who booked a week. An hour after they arrived another man showed up and was let in to the property by the male guest. When I said that only booked guests were allowed in they ignored me and continued going up the stairs and into the apartment. After about half an hour he left. I knocked on the door to tell them that I was very upset at what had happened. The girl was in the bed. It dawned on me then what was going on.
I was furious and wanted them to leave. But they stayed the whole week and I'm sure there were other "visitors" when I wasn't there. I am so upset that these awful people came into my property and my life. I reported it to Airbnb but they can still review me apparently and can still use Airbnb. I am alternating between fury and misery. It will take me a while to get over this. And cleaning up after them is something I wish I could forget. Just had to vent.

What you needed to do here, was to insist that the additional person leave. I mean stand up straight and tall and just INSIST and not let down. It takes spine to be a host and here's an example of why. There is the occasional horrid guest who may actually require a call to the police. If you try standing up and insisting, and banging on guest door continually until you get someone to come out and go out, this may do the trick. If not, call the police and tell them there is someone trespassing in your home and you need help getting that person out.
If these guests would not comply on that first day, no way in the world should you have permitted them to stay one extra day. THey should have been evicted the next day. Again, it's a matter of standing up straight and tall and having the spine. If you find this too difficult, see if you can find or discover a friend, or friend of a friend, who could help you in such a situation. Preferably a large burly man. They do well at situations like this.
Now make sure you leave a review for this guest that ensures they will never again stay at another host's home. Try your best to write an honest review, but one that lays it out really unmistakably clear that what you put up with, no host should ever have to tolerate. If you can do that then regard that as a good result coming from this awful experience.
