Star ratings assigned to guests by hosts.
This is a gentle reminder to please write into the copy of your review of a guest:
1) Whether you would host the guest again yourself;
2) whether you would recommend the guest to another host; &
3) the star ratings that you have assigned to the guest.
Because Airbnb has chosen non-transparency regarding this information, we must strive to inform one another, to the best of our ability, how we've rated a guest and whether we can recommend them to other hosts.
Thanks!!
Reply 1: I like your approach, and especially agree with points 1 and 2. I'm personally not into the star system at all, as there's not an objective reference point when it comes to ratings, so I prefer not to include it in my review.
I leave very effusive reviews for guests I really like, lukewarm and bland ones who I don't click with and cause no problems. If there was an issue with the guest, I try to portray it fairly and accurately without blowing it out of proportion. But as far as I'm concerned, the thumbs up/down is the only metric of any significance, and it's the thing I'm looking for from other hosts' feedback. I'm not looking for the guests' minor imperfections, I just want to know that experienced hosts would trust them in their homes again.
