NO Refunds!!!!!!
Stop giving refunds for minor crap! Finding a hair in the sink or a coffee stain on the counter is not a reason for a 50% refund. You make it harder for the rest of us. If someone says something wasn't cleaned, I go and reclean it. If someone finds a hair, I go pick it up, if someone says their was a death in the family, I tell them to cancel and "if" someone rebooks it I will give them a 50% refund (half the time they are lying). Use common sense, don't let people take you for a fool.

Bravo Nina. We all should welcome guests into our homes/properties, be hospitable and caring... but NOT fools!

I totally agree, but we must also keep in mind that in certain situations offering a partial refund can pre-empt a guest who is likely to talk Airbnb into overriding us and granting a 100% refund. That would include situations in which they are likely to get an Extenuating Circumstances exemption, or report a "Travel Issue" (unhygienic property, missing amenities, etc).

I had 1 guest who scheduled a party and I told her no parties... The 1st thing that she did when I told her no parties, is she claimed that she smelled mold and that the property was unsafe. She LOST!

I had another guest who claimed the last property that she was at was unclean and smelled like Mold, so she cancelled the reservation. Then she was nitpicking EVERYTHING claimed my property was unclean ALSO and smelled like Mold, and was unsafe ALSO, but it was late and she would stay only if I gave her an extra day for free. REALLY?

There are people who will go to restaurants and put hair in their food and ask for a free meals... Don't fall for it. Don't reward scammers otherwise they will keep doing it.

You have the worst luck with guests I've ever heard of, and you still have Instant Book on.
If you're not willing to screen your guests, I'm sorry but you have zero right to moan when you keep getting terrible ones.
