Someone in the forum said, Airbnb has been busy breaking things that are working. That is quite true. I got the above message (Unfortunately, we were not able to authorize your account.) for the last few days when I used Firefox to access my Airbnb account. I alternated to Chrome and it was working ok, which is great as I'm always a bit paranoid that they'd delete my listings for no reason other than misunderstanding from their part. But starting this morning, I got the same message on Chrome as well. Does anyone else experience this issue? I could access on the mobile phone ok but I do my hosting work mostly thru my laptop so this is a bit annoying to encounter.

I have not experienced that issue, but I think I saw a post about it on the new Airbnb groups. I would just call AIrbnb customer service if that happened--- from what I have heard, (from what other hosts said who had this happen to them) Airbnb doesn't de-list people or terminate anyone's account, without sending that person a note telling them of what they will be doing. So no host will just wake up one day and be unable to log into their account and not know why, when Airbnb delists them or terminates their account. Rather if you can't log in it is likely a computer issue or an Airbnb site issue.

Thanks much Deborah! Looks like it is working today, so it must have been just another glitch. But I'm happy to be able to access my account again.

Thanks, Deborah. And I just found out a few messages I sent to my guests in the last 2 weeks didn't get sent out. It did show as it was sent when I clicked the send button, but they disappeared probably shortly after. And my guests never got them. I wished that they stopped messing with whatever is working and fix the bugs instead.

Lambada -- I just started having the same problem. As of yesterday, I have been unable to send guests any messages, or do any preapprovals, or accept any reservation requests, on the Airbnb website. I sent someone a message just minutes after he inquired yesterday, then come to find out this morning, that my message just vanished, it never went to him. This is a serious problem -- can really mess up one's business badly to not have messages go thru!
I have to use my iphone now for all these things -- it's the only way left to do it. HOping that the iphone doesn't stop working too. They are having a serious number of problems throughout the system!!

Oh boy, sorry to hear, Deborah. So yeah, that's the same problem I had although it looks like it's been working in the last few days. Did you call them? I mostly hesitant to call since I'm not very confident that they understand the issue. Did you try different browsers as well? Yeah, you really need to have multiple devices with all these bugs traveling around on Airbnb platform. I used to be so proud of telling people that Airbnb has the best system because they are in the bay area and we have the best engineers here!

I did finally try a different browswer, and was able to send messages if I used internet explorer instead of Google Chrome. Which is ironic as when I first signed up on Airbnb, their advice to me was, only use Google Chrome, not internet explorer, our system works best with Google Chrome!

I have kept a super-old app version from 2013 because of all the bugs and glitches reported in the forums. The version works SLOW now but at least I never had problems with it. I try to work with it until February for the sake of the old forums. (The version shows the listings of posters which I find convenie t and helpful). Than I finally start the new adventure I think.
