What do you do when as a host you go on vacation? Do you shut down your listing, or keep it listed?
What I recommend is that you assess your availablity to respond to messages, and the likelihood of having internet access, through your vacation.
Here's what I do.. 3 different types of vacation situations:
(1) If I know that I will have internet access for at least part of every day, I do not change anything, and use the time I have online each day to reply to any inquiries or requests. It might be that my response time is delayed, but as long as I have some internet access every day I can get back to folks.
(2) If I either know that I will not have internet access at all on some days, or am not sure if I'll have internet access on any day, I put my listings on snooze for the duration of my vacation.
(3) if the internet access on my vacation is mixed, and I know I'll have internet access on some days but not on others, (and I know or can well guess what days those will be) then I can set my snooze settings in advance so that my listing/s are snoozed for only those days when I have no access. For instance, say I go on vacation Aug 15 to Aug 30, and know I will have no internet from Aug 20 to 25. Then I set my listing to be snoozed from Aug 20 to Aug 25. Or, if I go on vacation Aug 15 to Aug 30 and know I'll have no internet Aug 18 to Aug 20 and again from Aug 22 to Aug 26, then I set my listing on snooze from Aug 18 to Aug 26.
