Airbnb claims it shuts down adult film actors' accounts "out of an abundance of caution." The same argument about acting out of "an abundance of caution" could be ostensibly used by Airbnb to shut down accounts of black guests, since blacks commit a far higher number (disproportionately high, given their percent of the total population) of robberies and murders than any other group of people. Or to shut down accounts of Muslim guests, since Muslims statistically commit more terrorist acts than any other group of people. ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/table-43Prejudice is prejudice, I'm surprised that Airbnb is behaving in such a hypocritical way as to simultaneously rebuke prejudice with its non-discrimination policy, while also engaging in prejudicial actions.
