Did you know that Airbnb guests are given a checklist of details to complain about, if they rate a host less than 5 stars in any area? They get a popup checklist that allows them to complain, for instance, about specific areas of the house that weren't clean -- kitchen, bathroom, guest room, floor and carpet. They can complain of odors, or dust.
So what I want to know is...what is Airbnb going to do for parity?
And when are hosts going to get a checklist of potential problems/shortcomings of the guest?
visualize it - being prompted, if you checked less than 5 stars in any category, with this checklist you would complete for each and every less than 5 star guest:
-(1)guest was not as polite as they could have been. Could have been more polite in the following areas:
(a) communication
(b) behavior
(c) attitude
(d) expectations
(e) saying please and thank you
(2) Guest was not as clean as they should have been. Should havve been more clean in the following areas:
(a) kitchen
(i) sink
(ii) toaster
(iii) oven/stove
(iv) counters
(v) dishes
(vi) refrigerator
(vII) microwave
(viii) table and all other areas
(b) bathroom
(i) sink
(ii) shower/bath
(iii) mirror
(vi) floor
(v) toilet
(vi) cabinets and all other areas
(c) living room
(d) guest bedroom
(e) hallways
(f) all other areas
(3) guest was not as quiet as they should have been. Should have been quieter
(a) at night
(b) during the day
(c) when making phone calls
(d) When watching TV
(4) guest was not as honest as they should have been. Should have been more honest in the following areas:
(a) number of guests on reservation
(b) purpose of stay
(c) use of kitchen/cooking
(d) expectations
(e) said they read house rules and apparently did not do so
(5) guest did not read/know what they should have known from reading listing before booking. Guest ignored the following information provided to them in advance as evidenced by violations in the following areas::
(a) smoking policy
(b) pets on premises -- no guest pets
(b.5) not recommended for children
(c) guest policy
(d) quiet hours
(e) cleaning up after self policy
(f) no eating in bed/bedroom
(g) shoes off in house
(h) no borrowing host belongings without asking first
(i) no vandalizing the premises
(j) no illegal drugs
(k) no prostitution
(l) no burglarizing the premises
