Hosts in Los Angeles are fighting a proposed 180 day cap on short term rentals in that city which would have other restrictions as well: la.curbed.com/2017/6/14/15801400/airbnb-los-angeles-regulation-planning-committeeI'm not seeing how limiting the number of nights hosts can rent would reduce the need for house cleaners. Rather, the more hosting that goes on in a given city, the more work there is for house cleaners. And hosts are likely to pay these cleaners a higher rate than they are paid by hotels. For instance -- I pay my house cleaner $40 an hour for her work. I doubt that hotels pay their cleaners even $20 an hour.
