Services offered
Just got a booking inquiry but in reality it is a cleaning service offering their service. I know I can just approve or decline and they won't book but it's annoying that they have an account and use it to spam us. Is there a way to report this to Airbnb? Is it even against the rules or just one of those annoying things hosts have to put up with? Paul Cynthia: There is little flag icon on the message that you should be able to click to report the message to Airbnb.
Ed & Hugh: Flag it!
Paul: I just flagged it (I guess you can't do it from a mobile device) and also found an option when you decline to flag as spam. Thanks Cynthia, Ed and Hugh
Louise: Just pre-approve it and flag it. They won't book, obviously, and this way it helps your stats.
Deborah: Someone did that to me and Airbnb Trust and Safety Team was all over the matter within hours. He had a carpet cleaning company and must have been spamming many hosts in my area. They told me I was not to communicate with him and even removed all his messages from my inbox so that I could not communicate with him if I had wanted to.
I thought that perspective on carpet cleaning was taking it to quite to another level.
And all that happened without me even flagging his message...
Louise: That's good to know.
If ever I have a suspected robber/rapist/knife-wielding-crazy-person as a guest I'll just ring CX and tell them he's trying to tout for business. Seems they'll be on it in a flash.
Kristi: Yup I have gotten a few of these! I called Airbnb & reported them and also Flagged them on their profile. I keep wanting to approve them but then I sink to their level.
