Now here's a novel idea: if Airbnb asks users to provide their name and photo, they are guilty of discrimination! That's what a woman in Oregon is saying. I don't think I have ever seen a lawsuit as ridiculous as this one, where the plaintiff claims that requiring her to use her real name and real photo violates public accomodation laws. She's in essence arguing that Airbnb is obligated to prevent hosts from being able to see who they are renting to.
Such an assertion is really offensive, besides being inane. Now the question is....can I sue this woman, for offending me and wanting to take away my rights to screen guests?

Interesting -- the lawsuit seeks an injunction that IMHO would be racist on its face -- requiring Airbnb to have "special" procedures or exemptions for black users, different than those for whites or those of other non-black races? Hypocrisy and double standards too -- it's the whole ball of wax in this piece of work.
So suppose Airbnb lets those who are afraid to show themselves hide behind a pseudonym and a photo of a kitty kat. That will help hosts know who the crybabies and whiners are so we can decline their reservation request more quickly.

An Oregon woman has filed a lawsuit against Airbnb, saying the website facilitates discrimination against black users.
Her class-action lawsuit accuses Airbnb of violating Oregon’s public accommodation laws.
The lawsuit claims that Airbnb’s practice of allowing hosts to review a prospective guest’s full name and photograph before accepting a reservation allows hosts to reject clients based on their race.
An Airbnb spokeswoman said the company strongly opposes bias and discrimination.
Harrington, who is African American, has not used Airbnb, but her attorney says she has the right to use the platform without providing her full name and photo.
The lawsuit seeks an injunction that would allow Harrington and other black users to join the site and access listings without providing photos or full names.
