Home Escape at www.homeescape.com is a new STR and property rental platform and one of the advantages of this platform is that they are free to use. THey charge no fee, either to host or guest. THey also are not a third party in the transactions -- they do not collect the payment from the guest. The guest pays host directly, and can communicate directly with the host from the start. Home Escape does have an "inquiry" process where you as a host get inquiries through the platform, but you can also post contact information in your listing, and post your own website link in your listing.
For site security, they check all website URLs you put in your listing before they allow those to be posted.
THey also check all listings before they allow them to go live. Once you create a listing, they send you an email, asking you if you are (1) the property owner, or (2) a property manager or tenant at that property who has permission from the property owner to sublet the property. If you are not the owner, they require you to send them documents to show that you have permission to sublet. So they are screening listings to ensure that everyone who puts a listing on their site does indeed have permission to rent it out. I can't imagine how they will have time to check every single listing if they were to get really big like Airbnb...but for now that is what they are doing.
THese are Home Escapes' cancellation policies, which it allows you to choose from. Note that since guests pay you directly, YOU will be the one enforcing any cancellation policy, not Home Escape. They just have these there so you can be clear with the guest what your policy is:
Flexible
Bookings cancelled at minimum 7 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund.
Bookings cancelled at minimum 14 days before the start of the stay will receive a 100% refund.
Standard
Bookings cancelled at minimum 14 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund.
Bookings cancelled at minimum 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund.
Rigid
Bookings cancelled at minimum 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund.
Bookings cancelled at minimum 60 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund.
Strict
Bookings cancelled at minimum 60 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund.
No refund
No refund offered.
