Hi Andrew,
I was to add a new restaurant in my GuideBook yesterday and saw a new update (never receive any mail about) I realize most of the place I had in were changed with the update. The name of each place have been removed and the name field filled with the adress. Most of places have been removed from specific section to the 'Everything else' section. I spend more than 1 hour to replace everything in the right section... They also add highlights you can choose such as 'Late Nights', Romance', 'Budget Friendly', etc.
I can't be in SF with you and Deborah (due to the fact I receive the invitation with only 5 days delay) but think too it's linked with this event.
Depending on how Airbnb will use our GuideBook I will delete it from my listing. If everybody have access to your secret spot in few weeks it's no more a secret. And I don't want to share all my local tips with everybody. TripAdvisor is a great feature and don't think airbnb will do a better job. For me part of the travel is discovering new places. I don't look for the perfect place, the best restaurant known by everybody. I try, sometimes it's a great one, sometimes not.
Live as a local say Airbnb but most of local don't know everything. Most of the time guests tells me about a new restaurant or a new bar I never heard about before.
The pressure to have the perfect trip increase guests expectations and frustration when something goes wrong. If you don't expect anything you are more open minded to all little good things of daily life and you really live as a local and belong everywhere.

Edith had a guest from airbnb last week, we had an improvised dinner with our travelling hosts and him. If we inderstood that right, it's a combination of all entries the hosts make. I'm not enthusiastic about it: a few do the work and all hosts in a street profit from it? And then your favourite places are overrun with tourists. I would have liked print and copy between listings functions.
