I sent a pre-approval to the guest, 'Amanda', she tried to click to confirm, and it wouldn't work. Two phone calls to CX later, the booking finally goes through. I didn't receive a confirmation of reservation email from Airbnb, but it showed in the message thread as confirmed.
A couple minutes after the booking was confirmed, I discovered I couldn't access the message thread with Amanda (I got 500 error/ice-cream girl). That was two days ago and I still can't access it (yes, have contacted CX, and as a stop gap they gave Amanda my email address so we can communicate).
Next thing I notice is that in the list of Future Transactions, the amount for Amanda's reservation is given in US dollars, when it should be in UK pounds, me being a UK host.
Last oddity, the booking reference, - i.e. the six letters/numbers - are ALL numbers with Amanda's reservation, whereas every reference I've ever seen has always been a mix of numbers and letters.
Has anyone here had a similar experience? I know it's a techy problem but I've never encountered anything like this before (and I'm an experienced host).

I've never heard of anything like this....what a series of errors!! SOunds very frustrating. Usually the error message with the ice cream girl you only get if a guest's profile has been deleted or Airbnb Trust and Safety team has been involved. Is it possible that occurred?

No. The guest's profile is still in place. Fully verified.

Then, it sounds just like more software trouble on Airbnb's end, of which they have been having quite a lot lately!!

Communications with guest indicate that this is a legit guest (gut instinct perfectly happy with her). I've Googled her as she has a public-ish position. She's added Linked In as one of the verifications.
