I just looked at the blue banner on the top of the New Hosts Forum page, which announces the closure date for these groups -- and it has been changed yet again! This is the 3rd time the closure date has been changed! Originally these groups were to close Nov 25 2015. Then that was pushed back to Feb 25 2016. Then on Feb 25 the announcement was made to push it back to April 29 2016, and just today I notice it is May 31 2016!! We said all our goodbyes during the last week of February....and now it's an endlesssssssss goodbye......

I don't understand why they are holding off - ? It's not as if they've made any changes whatsoever to the CC. And I doubt they intend to, because they'd have to start from scratch to make any improvements. The groups were/are fine, they're just clunky and don't work like normal forums. So, I'd expected an *actual* forum where you could view recently updated threads etc, but instead they gave us the same old clunk and, worse, a tsunami of basic CX questions from newbs across the planet thus destroying any sense of a community.

I dont' understand either...they do plan to make changes to the CC, but none of the changes are based on feedback given them by us on the Launch Pad Hosts board. See this post on Announcements, which is the same that was posted on the Launch pad Hosts board: community.airbnb.com/t5/Announcements/CC-update-quick-preview-of-upcoming-changes/m-p/58944#U58944Lizzie Online Community Manager London, United Kingdom CC Update: Preview of Upcoming Changes [ Edited ] Hello everyone, Over the past months you have kindly provided a large amount of feedback around how we can improve and enhance the Community Center and I am sure you are excited about hearing further details on this. We have recently released a sneak peek in the 'Announcement' Board of what we have been working on in the background and as you have been helped shape this development of the CC I wanted make sure you have seen this! These are some of the most requested changes by the community: - Search: improved look and feel when searching for content - Meetups: a tool that lets you request a new meetup - Tagging: this is an additional search functionality, and another way for you to categorize content (called Trending Topics in the illustration below) Tagging- Subscriptions: you’ll be able to subscribe to specific content you want to follow, and also follow different discussion boards that you are interested to get updates on. Subscriptions See a screenshot below to illustrate what the page would look like with these elements. Note that the content is just for illustration purposes, not the actual text you'll see when it's live. Top of page What do you think? What types of discussions would you like to see here and which feature are you looking forward to the most? Not sure where to start...take a look at the Community Help Guides. Share your most enjoyable hosting experience for Throwback Thursday or why not start your own off-topic discussion in the Living Room! Deborah Thanks Lizzie for the preview of coming changes....I am not sure what to make of this preview....it this just part of the changes planned or is this all of the changes planned? Except for the ability to create meetups, the changes mentioned in the preview don't reflect the feedback that Launch Pad Hosts have given. Maybe I am missing something, or maybe there are additional changes that are not being announced here, but I dont' see that any of our other feedback or suggestions have been incorporated. I dont' want to re-state our feedback here as we have all provided it several times...it can be found on the posts on this board. Also tried to hail Andrew and Helga, and Elaine but their profiles didn't come up when I typed their names so I will email them individually.

Incredibly feeble and missing the point, as ever. I feel very slightly sorry for Lizzie, she's just a paid drudge with an impossible task. Her perky posts trying to generate 'community spirit' - Let's Go Running! Share your stories! - are most often met with zero replies.

I feel sorry for Lizzy too. She's just doing her job, but it's a thankless one. She's usurped the role of real host community leader, as she's not a host and is not really part of the host community -- that must feel awkward at some level.
