I've received three separate surveys from Airbnb in the last 36 hours. I assume that everyone else has as well? I'm being diligent in answering honestly but do wonder why all of a sudden the interest in knowing how I feel about things that are actually in place, rather then asking me how I would feel about changes/improvements BEFORE they are made?
What's everyone else doing with the surveys? Deborah you mentioned in another post that you declined to be interviewed for additional info, sorry if this is too nosy, but I'm interested in your opinion on this.
If they are taking these surveys seriously I'd love them to publish the results and let us know how they'll use the info. They are a company that has every right to take suggestions and not use them, but most of the "transparency" seems to be one sided.

Agree, Maria Lurdes (Milu) --- the time to do a survey about COmmunity Center was actually about a year ago or more, before they rolled out the new Community Center. Not after. Not 5-6 months after.
But at least they are doing a survey at all, which I think is a good sign that they want feedback. I don't like the survey form that much -- I think they should offer more big white space boxes for lots of additional comments on each question. if they really claim to want to know they should give more space for feedback that is outside the box of just checking one of the avialable answers on a scale of 1 to 5.
I don't want to be interviewed since I have been on the Launch Pad HOsts (the group of 18 hosts who were selected to help start the new Community Center and asked to make the intial posts there to get it going --- I was actually the first host they selected -- since Chip and the team realized I had been a leader in the host community -- I helped them pick the other hosts on the Launch Pad team) for the last 5 months, and we have given quite a lot of feedback to Airbnb during that time. We have critiqued the Community Center with constructive criticisms, making concrete suggestions for what could be done better. We did this again and again, and we haven't seen any changes -- only have been told that changes were "coming." The only change we did see was that ABB promised it wouldn't move hosts' posts off the host-only boards (host Circle, Responsible Hosting) if hosts wanted to post there. BUt they didn't change the language describing those boards that made it less likely that hosts would post there. (Initially, they'd said they were going to move posts off those boards if they didn't fit the description of those boards).
So I feel that at least for me, (and other Launch Pad hosts) I've already given my feedback about the Community Center multiple times in several places, and if they didnt' hear me then I dont' feel like being interviewed now. I will do the survey, but I just don't want to be interviewed over it. Others may not have yet given their feedback and may welcome being interviewed.
I did also receive the two other surveys about becoming a host and about my experience hosting. I dont' know why all the surveys at once -- it seems not good strategy to give hosts several surveys all at once. People are less likely to respond to any of the surveys if they feel bombarded. I think waiting at least a week between surveys might have been bettter. I do think they are taking the surveys seriously....I dont' know if they will publish the results but I do think they will use them. So in that respect I think it is all a positive thing and would encourage hosts to respond to the surveys.

Hah, Deborah, I mixed up the dates and thought you found a solution to post between hiking ;-) when I visited the Moab region, my local friend organized a portable hotspot for me. That plus an ipod touch would be enough. It's very light and small - with your activity, you'd need a backbag with solar cells though. (With Siri, you could even post walking...) Have a nice holiday!!!
