Scams and weirdo happenings
It seems like starting this past week there's been a sudden boom in people that really seem like scammers or gangstalkers or something.
These guests don't have a bio and ask to come see the house first. This one guy was asking me to pay cash because he's going thru a divorce and his cards are shut off. I'm very empathetic but I'm not an idiot. Something seemed off. He's asking to use PayPal at first and then I lower my price to 25 cuz he says it's all he's got so I said alright let's see. Lowered price and he supposedly books yet it's not saying that he did. He was trying to say just come pick me up I did book the payment won't go thru for three days tho.
Very very bizarre sudden influx of people who aren't at all like the nice people I'm used to dealing with. Blame it on end times I guess. Ha.

Don't accept cash, don't let people see the house first, don't do discounts! If someone can't afford it, I'm sure there are lower priced places elsewhere. And I'm not quite sure what you mean by "end times"?
Keith
these are definitely scams. avoid any attempts to book off the platform. you lose insurance and many legal protections when you do.
nearly 100% of the time people want to "preview" a listing that has a full description photos and reviews they're up to no good.
flag their conversation for airbnb to review. it's likely they're having the same conversations with other people and should be removed from the system.

As Keith says, they're up to no good, and could be up to extremely no good. Why, why, WHY go through Airbnb if you are going to turn around and go behind their back? You can say NO to people. Often they won't respect you if you don't.
