hi, i'm new at hosting, and i'm having a terrible time finding decent cotton sheets and towels for my beds. i wanted to ask what other people have come up with, because i'm spending all my rent money replacing perfectly good stained bedding, or throwing out cheap sheets that fall apart with the first wash.
thanks for your suggestions

I've been ordering bed linens from Riteway Linens out of Florida. The only thing is that you have to order by the dozen, so it's an investment. The quality is wonderful, they wash and dry really nicely and as long as you don't use a super hot dryer, the sheets come out quite smooth. I think it's the Oxford line that I use, quite heavy and very substantial so it feels quite luxurious. If you call Riteway Linens, ask for Lisa Mowers, she was very helpful.
So far I've ordered fitted sheets in queen, full and twin - flat sheets in same, pillowcases and pillow protectors. In the first part of the new year I plan to order duvet covers.

Hi Jeanne and welcome!
I get sheets from IKEA, which are not too expensive, about $30-40 for a set of full size. Dvala is the name I think and one can order them online. I have found that they hold up pretty well over time -- I've had them for 2 years and they are still fine. I do have to replace some that get damaged/stained by guests but I try to charge the guests for that when I notice damage, so that I'm not carrying the expense of all that. I find IKEA to be less expensive than Bed Bath and Beyond for instance. I have not looked into Riteway LInens which Maria Lurdes (Milu) mentions, but that sounds good.

I use a hotel supply company here in Australia called 'hotel products direct' and the quality is amazing and they wash up perfectly. I've had them for close to 3 years and they aren't anywhere near ready for replacing yet

thank you superhostnyc, i will look them up. thank you deborah. we have an ikea, and i've been meaning to go looking for bowls there. thank you fleur. the shipping costs to my house would be prohibitive.
i hope i'm not one of those newbies who are causing everybody to tear their hair out because of my abrupt question without a story or any attempt at community.

Hi Jeanne
Congratulations, It sounds like you have been reading some of the other posts on here, which actually does go to show that you are interested in community!! (Because you have spent at least a little time reading!)
Actually I don't mind people coming in just to ask something when they really something specific (and particularly when it is very practical like your quesiton is) -- I think many of us are on edge though as regards the new AIrbnb groups which are very challenged as regards being a place where any healthy community can develop. ALso, there are relatively fewer people like yourself coming on this forum just to ask a question like you did, so for this particular context it's a nice change of pace.

In Ireland or the UK I find Marks and Spencer sheets good quality, not hard to iron and easy to dry

Hi Fleur, Just noticed your comment about sheets and towels. Great! I'll have to try these out. They even offer a discount for Airbnb hosts! I have been looking for somewhere to buy the little jams - thanks for the information. Where is your listing in Aust? We host a self contained unit on the Sunshine Coast in Qld. Cheers, Lisa

Hey Lisa. Those sheets are seriously the best, I just bought a second set. I shared a set of the little jams with another host nearby as it takes too long otherwise. Also I bought the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser and love it, found the exact same one at Bunnings $20 more. You could go crazy on that website. I'm in Wellington point in brissy but originally from Peregian beach.
