SEe this article from Forbes about the potential for the "sharing economy" to continue to evolve in new areas: www.forbes.com/sites/bijankhosravi/2015/11/07/want-to-be-the-next-airbnb-or-uber-you-need-to-understand-the-sharing-economy/"Critics of the sharing economy are piling on. Just this month a closely fought battle over Proposition F in San Francisco, also known as the “Airbnb Initiative,” aimed to put serious restrictions on private, short-term housing rentals. Uber, meanwhile, faces nearly daily battles with legislators and protestors over the way it treats its drivers. Even the media is jumping on the bandwagon calling for changes to the way the sharing economy has evolved. But, even with all this strife, the sharing economy is just getting warmed up. The sharing economy is simply experiencing the same growing pains that eCommerce went through a few years ago. When it was first introduced, most people thought eCommerce would never work. Eventually, though, the idea took. Today most people shop online without blinking an eye – it’s the new norm."
