Hello,
My apartment has been ransacked by travelers. Airbnb is now taking so long and asks me always more and more receipts, picture and information. I feel this is to make me loose time. Has anyone been in this situation before ? How did it go? How much time did it take to get indemnify ?
Thanks a lot. Sophie

HI Sophine I'm so sorry to hear that this has happened! It has happened before to others. SEe this board where I have put several stories of egregious incidents like this. You can read about them. globalhosting.freeforums.net/board/49/crimes-assaults-egregious-problems-guestsYOu will not easily find other hosts to whom this has happened, since there are not many of them, but if you want to send me your contact info I can send it to one of the hosts who went through this recently with his London Apartment, and ask if he is willing to contact you privately.

Also, the easiest way to give me your contact info privately is to just register on this forum as a member, and then I will see your email address and if you say it is okay, I can give your email address to the man who had his apartment in London ransacked, and he can contact you. I also may be able to put you in touch with another host who had her home burglarized by a guest a while back.

Sophine -- I passed your contact info on to David, so if he is willing, he will respond to you. OTherwise, I can generally comment that you need to demand to be taken seriously and have a senior staffperson consider your case. David had to do a lot of demanding. It can also help to contact some of the Airbnb higher-ups. I have also passed your email on to a woman named Evelyn who knows many of the Airbnb higher-ups like Chip Conley (She knows him pretty well --- better than I do), and asked her to email you too. You can also contact Evelyn directly through her site at www.evelynbadia.com
