Join Airbnb at City Hall to Stand up Against New $50,000 fine proposed bill
(see a news article on this here: www.nydailynews.com/new-york/exclusive-airbnb-fights-bill-hit-n-y-homeowners-article-1.2406451 )
Dear Hosts,
Sorry for posting this notice on this group, I have also posted it in the group Legalize Sharing in NY.
www.airbnb.com/groups/828
But not everyone has found that group. I hope you understand this proposed bill will have a ripple effect in our community and not just in NY.
I have attended these events in the past. We MUST show up. The opposition (haters) of Airbnb are many.
I'll be there - Will you?

I’m writing with really important news. A bill is being debated in front of the New York City Council that will punish New Yorkers with a $50,000 fine for sharing their homes while away for work or other reasons.
$50,000 is not a normal amount to be fined for anything in this city, especially something that helps many New Yorkers make ends meet. This is a move to try to take away a lifeline that allows thousands of New Yorkers and their families to stay in their homes.
So we’re holding an event on the steps of City Hall to tell the City Council that this bill is too extreme.
Can we count on you to join the Airbnb community and make your voice heard at City Hall?
WHEN:
Thursday, October 29th at 8:45AM
WHERE:
Steps of City Hall
RSVP
This event will show the strength of our community and make our voices heard on this important issue. But if we're going to successfully push back against this excessive bill, it's crucial that we have as many supporters as possible.
Will you join us and show the City Council the real Airbnb community: New Yorkers and their families sharing their homes to make ends meet.
Together we can work toward clear and effective laws for home sharing here in New York City.
Thank you for your continued support for Airbnb in NYC.
