Hi,
I just got a reservation request notification on my android phone (does not have the app). I went to my windows desktop computer to deal with it. The message showed only her first name and she was fully verified. I rent out a whole house and my target market is families. This was for a group going to a wedding which I am not crazy about so rather than accepting or declining, at that point, I sent her a message emphasizing the need to read my description and house rules before she commits. Later I picked up my nexus android tablet (which does have the app), which also had the notification, and noticed that her full name was showing there. Not that I care but I thought we could not see the full name before accepting the reservation. Is that incorrect? Note, full name is not showing on my ipad (has the app).

Hi Paul, yes, this issue has been brought up before on the groups. See this post for another discussion about this: globalhosting.freeforums.net/thread/233/full-name-appears-mobile-appThis issue of full name being visible goes both ways, so guest could potentially also see your full name on their phone. WHich is why I previously recommended that hosts set their account so that only booked guests receive your name. Airbnb is apparently aware of this "glitch" but hasn't fixed it yet, so I recommend that until they get it fixed, you adjust your account to prevent leakage of your last name to those who haven't booked. To do that, just go to your account, and edit your profile. Where the last name field is, remove all but your LAST INITIAL, so that your full name does not appear. Then, all that guests will see via the mobile phone is your first name and last initial. Then, on your "house manual" part of your listing, which only is revealed to those who book a reservation, there you can add your full name along with your other house info such as directions to your house, wifi info etc.
