Welcome, Oliver! Yes, you will find many from Anecdotes have already arrived here, including CC, Helga, Deanna, Raymond and Elaine, and Rosanne has halfway arrived (posted but not yet joined formally). ANd a whole slew of NHF folks have already come on board too.
What a magnificient photo! I think I would not mind at all being on that street in France right now, walking down the avenue. It would do me a lot of good to have a nice trip to a totally new place.

Welcome Olivier ! I'm not yet a thrice daily checks of this forum, but it will get better as more of us post. ... and as we get used to hop back and fro from post to post.
Deborah, did you consider that: when you see the list of postings, everyone saying just Hi!, that seems less interesting, so newbies might get less answers and be discouraged. But for your welcome answer, I mean.

Helga -- yes, it may be less interesting for newbies in the introductions, since they will not necessarily get a lot of replies (particularly if they have not asked a question but are really just saying hi). Yet I think (hope) that most people realize that this is how things go, that most of the action on the forum occurs in the popular topics, and not in the introductions. Yet it is valuable to have introductions, a specific place where members have the chance to say something about themselves, which they could not readily do in a post on a specific topic, for instance, one about refunds, or pets, or guests with allergies.
