I responded to an inquiry yesterday, but my dashboard keeps telling me I have an pending inquiry. When I click on it, the conversation thread clearly indicates I responded to it already. Will this affect my response score? How can I get rid of it? I really don't want to spend all morning trying to call cx. Thanks!

On the dashboard, to the right of the notification is an X. Click that and the notification will go away.

Yes, as Queenie indicates, you don't need to do more, so you can click on the "X" to make the notification go away.
The reason the inquiry shows as "pending" is because you didn't either send a preapproval or a decline. Airbnb is pressuring hosts a little (not a lot, but a little) to either preapprove or decline each inquiry, by keeping the inquiry in "pending" status until one of those is done. This can be very confusing, because you don't really HAVE TO preapprove or decline any inquiry, simply responding with a message is sufficient, and to use the term "pending" sets up a confusion of the inquiry with a reservation request, where the same term "pending" is used, and with the reservation request you DO need to accept or decline within 24 hrs.
If you prefer to neither preapprove or decline the inquiry, you do not have to, and simply sending a message within 24 hrs is all you are "required" to do.

Thanks, but something is off. I am familiar with the usual 'pending' for no pre-approval or denial, (and subsequent nagging) but this isn't normal. There is no 'x' to make it go away. When I click on notification, it clearly says 'you responded to this..." My inbox doesn't indicate any new messages. Just the dashboard keeps blaring "1 pending inquiry" and doesn't want to leave. I've logged out and back in. It shows up in both the app on my phone, as well as my laptop.

HI Lori and Tom Is there a "dismiss" button to push? I have just had an inquiry come in during the last hour, myself. I responded to it . When I go to the dashboard, it shows as a pending inquiry. When I open up that item on the dashboard by clicking on it, I then see the latest message (the one I typed to the guest) and below that, an array of 4 buttons to push. Pre-approve, decline, respond, or dismiss. If you push dismiss this should make this notice go away, but I re don't see the problem if the notice doesn't go away. You have already responded to it and you know that so just ignore the pending inquiry info on the dashboard. I rarely use the dashboard to guide me. I use the inbox to guide me. The inbox envelope icon has all the info I need -- I can tell immediately if there are messages I need to respond to.
I also do not use the app at all to tell me what I need to do on my account --- I use my email inbox and my Airbnb inbox and that seems to keep things simple and streamlined.

Thank you! Yes, there is a 'dismiss' option that I had previously subconsciously ignored. Many thanks!
