Together with my wife Jutta we host Airbnb and other guests since 2010. Besides hosting I'm organizer of two Airbnb groups (one German-speaking "head" group for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and one local group for Stuttgart), and I'm co-organizer of the Hosts4Hosts group, mainly for Austria. As I'm a little bit concerned about Airbnb's new plans, switching from host-lead groups to Airbnb-lead forums, I'm looking for a way how to continue the valuable discussion we had in our non-city-related groups, as until now I can see now way how they will be continued after the switch.

Hi Till, thank you so much for joining!
Many of us are similarly concerned about how to continue our discussions and preserve our communities, that we have built up, which is a big part of the reason for setting up this new forum. A team of 6 of us are actually now working on a spreadsheet we have set up of all the 440 existing peer-run and peer-created community groups on Airbnb, reaching out one by one to contact all the group organizers of these existing groups like your HOsts 4 HOsts group, in order to get the word out about this new forum and ask if these group organizers and their members might be interested in joining us, and/or continuing their groups on this forum. We can add boards on this forum, and could potentially move many groups here, so that they could continue here. Yesterday, among other things I did, I wrote messages in Spanish, Portugese, Swedish, Greek and Bosnian, (no I am not multilingual -- I used google translate!!) in order to reach out to several other communities around the globe and invite them over here.
It remains to be seen how the upcoming changes will effect our groups, but I think having a place to dialogue about all this will be valuable.
see these two threads where we have started talking about this issue -- could you post on one or both of these threads? THis will help our discussion continue.
