Another Denver man has been charged with a felony for renting out his own property. The felony doesn't apply to the renting part but applies to his having signed a notarized form stating that this house he is renting is his primary home, and the city doing an investigation which suggested it wasn't.
Yet since you have to fill out such a form to do Airbnb renting on a property, the end result is that anyone who tries to rent out their own property as a short term rental could be charged with a felony crime. Which seems very disproportionate to me.
