This video shows one man's story about Airbnb's response when guests stole EVERYTHING from one of his listings...meaning, ALL the furniture and appliances...guests took EVERYTHING. Meaning, $7500 worth of furniture and other items.
"Airbnb designs their resolution procedure to 'needle' hosts, which then gives them the right to deny you your claim, on the basis you have not been cooperative."
Make sure if a crime is involved, that you get a police report, Airbnb will ask for this.
Keep receipts for EVERYTHING you buy for your listing! Airbnb will require this.
He says that the strategy Airbnb seems to use is to put in more and more deadlines and requirements "so that the host screws up, because if the host doesn't screw up, they won't have to pay them."
He says once they did agree to pay, the payout did not go through, and he had to hound them over and over to get the payment out. They finally did pay out.
