A Sonoma County, California house went up in flames during a stay by 8 Airbnb guests, one of whom admitted to smoking on the porch during the stay and just before the fire.
THe owners got a payment from their home insurer, though for less than half the $1.8 million value of the home. They have been pressing Airbnb to fork over $1M via the Host Guarantee, and nearly 2 years later had not seen a penny forthcoming.
