This type of article brings with it many questions for Airbnb and for hosts, particularly those doing short term rental business in Greece. www.forbes.com/sites/panosmourdoukoutas/2019/03/02/greeks-begin-to-see-the-ugly-side-of-a%E2%80%8Ci%E2%80%8Cr%E2%80%8Cb%E2%80%8Cn%E2%80%8Cb%E2%80%8C/#17e766ed6bb9IN line with my new emphasis in this group, on "Holistic and Authentic Hosting", I'd like to suggest that there are values and ethics related to the hosting or short term rental/vacation rental business, but also that it is not always evident just what those ethics or values are, or what exactly is to be done. I value property rights and individual freedom, but I also see the problem when rents in an area increase 25%, as in Greece, due to the number of STRs. Housing issues are complex, and I think it's often too simplistic to point the finger of blame at short term rentals. However, sometimes there may be a problem with too many short term rentals. Each of us needs to decide what our own values are and how to incorporate those into our business. Have you weighed these issues, or any similar to them, in your short term rental or hosting business?
